Software Requirements

• Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 - ASNA DataGate Component Suite requires a licensed copy of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 installed on your machine.

New Features

• DataGate Studio 9.1 - DataGate Studio 9.1 is a new database management tool.

Issues resolved since the last BETA release (9.1.48.0)

Asna Services

• Case 12723. Expose remoting errors when *DOMAIN authentication fails due to them.

DataGate Client

• Minimal support for SQL "named instances" in database names.

DataGate Server

• Case 12788. Express boolean fields as char(1) in DDS.
• Case 12761. In dg400, get complete "replacement data" for exceptions, rather than the silently-truncated buffer provided by the default C++ exception handler.
• Case 12698. Don't use buggy temp name API, instead use our own random name generator. Improve integrity checks on lmdb recovery sequence.

DataGate Studio

• Case 12821: Fixed bug where the "View Code" option was opening print files in the designer.
• Case 12789. Don't attempt to remove members from a DSS file.
• Fix logic error in data editor event handler.
• Case 12591. Re-implement VS services that require the resources of the DataGate Explorer tool window, to omit a timing window where services are requested, but the tool window has not yet been created.
• Case 12782. Changed node name as requested.
• Follow up Case 12766. Catch all exceptions emanating from the create-file sequence, including XML validation errors, and display the error dialog.
• Case 12761. In dg400, get complete "replacement data" for exceptions, rather than the silently-truncated buffer provided by the default C++ exception handler.
• Case 12723. Expose remoting errors when *DOMAIN authentication fails due to them.
• Case 12619. Reimplement source service to provide sources as a dictionary-based collection, with user's connection name as key. Fix bindings in the various users of the source service.
• Case 12418. Check for and prompt any errors produced when a target member creation fails.
• Case 1076. Display the "dependent type" value of the dependents property of physical files in the property browser. Fix problem with file overwriting in Copy Logical.
• Case 12449, 12663, et.al.? Fix problem in project causing it to be aware of only the last-opened print file designer. Implement a bridge class for dealing with VSIP's duplicate clipboard namespace problem, eliminating almost all drag&drop exceptions.
• Case 11916: Fixed bug where "multilevel" undo/redo icons were not being enabled appropriately.
• Case 12693. Handle E_ABORT from OpenSpecificEditor rather than letting VS rethrow.

Visual RPG Runtime

• Case 12721: Fixed bug in %LOOKUP with number of elements parameter given.

ASNA Services

• Case 1076. Implement GetDependents RPCs in dg400.
• Case 12696. Fix broken reporting of base file format IDs, which was causing dgstudio's Copy Logical to fail when copying a join file from dg400 to atlas. Fix several old compiler warnings.

DataGate Client

• Case 12620. Use correct attribute names when reading XML data area definitions.
• Case 12418. Fix numerous problems with the copy logical command. Handle the most common exceptions with resolution dialogs. Fix UI problems. Implement a cached member list. Improve post-command dgexplorer refresh cycle.
• Case 12578. Via reflection, use .NET4 hooks into config serialization to assure backwards compatibility of database name storage.
• Case 12547. Fix format validation. Select a default format (ISO) when the current format is invalid for a new field type.
• Case 12494. Implement requested functionality. Improve per-connection dgstudio options, and file builder feedback handling. Added prompting dialog and iseries path validation.

DataGate Server

• Case 12696. Use improved obj/lib class.
• Case 1076. Implement GetDependents RPCs in dg400.
• Case 12696. Fix broken reporting of base file format IDs, which was causing dgstudio's Copy Logical to fail when copying a join file from dg400 to atlas.
• Case 12529. The iseries does not support file object locking, via the ALCOBJ command. Implement DataGate file object locking/unlocking by locking/unlocking the first member of the file.

DataGate Studio

• Case 12617. Replace non-functional "copy member" dialog with suitable existing functionality.
• Case 12041. Fix case-neutral handling of database name nodes. Improve error message. Rename "view settings" instead of deleting them.
• Case 12418. Fix numerous problems with the copy logical command. Handle the most common exceptions with resolution dialogs. Fix UI problems. Implement a cached member list. Improve post-command dgexplorer refresh cycle.
• Case 12449. VS Paste command enablement query values were inverted for the project file node in the project hierarchy. This causes VS to re-query the command multiple times, causing multiple clipboard format query failures. Apparently, this query sequence, though otherwise unrelated, results in the print file designer's "dirty" state getting out of sync.
• Case 12554: unable to recreate this in 9.1 (VS 2008).
• Case 12591. Use package- rather than global-service provider to query for connection service.
• Case 12586. Don't use disposed style sheet transformer in the "overwrite file" case. Localize file builder message strings. Improve post-create dgexplorer refresh when using drag&drop to invoke Create File. Replace exception pop-up with builder warning when save dds fails.
• Case 12537. Override VS hierarchy delete handler UI to show Remove Database dialog directly. Fix the Add Server command sequence. Fix several minor UI problems.
• Case 12545. When the server platform is capable of deleting a non-empty container, do not recursively delete its contents.
• Case 12488. Fix handling of connection-missing condition. Fix some UI problems. When a base/ref file is not found, un-verify the path.
• Case 12494. Implement requested functionality. Improve per-connection dgstudio options, and file builder feedback handling. Added prompting dialog and iseries path validation.
• Fix minor UI bug in the print file converter error prompt dialog.
• Case 12476. Implement warning dialog, a print tools:options page, and decentralize converter registration.
  Provide a user-configurable print file converter interface.
• Case 12477. At /setup remove uninstalled package registration erroneously installed by the isolated shell redistributable.
